Agri-Tours The Central Coast has a diversity of contrasting geography and subclimates. From cool, mositure-laden breezes near the ocean to the dry, still, hot summer days inland, numerous unique microclimates exist in between. Because of this diversity, a broad spectrum of fruits, nuts, vegetables, and fiber can be grown in the area over an extended growing season. The coastal areas can plant earlier without the risk of frost while the inland areas have the long hot days that many crops need to thrive. The Central Coast Ag Tourism Council, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting small farmers and ranchers by promoting their homes and farms as tourist destinations. Members who have chosen to be destination sites are opening up their homes and businesses so they can enrich their lives and yours. They welcome the opportunity to show you, and your children, where food starts on its journey to your table and look forward to answering your questions about their livelihood. Log on their website www.agadventures.org for more information. |
