The History of the Atascadero Wine Festival

From Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival's Chairwomen, Barbie Butz:

The Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival, an annual celebration of the viticulture and San Luis Obispo County Wine Region, is the creation of a group of community leaders to help support local community projects and the Charles Paddock Zoo located in Atascadero, CA.

Celebrating the artisan talents, flavors, scenery and people, this unique lakeside wine festival has grown to boast wineries, chefs, acclaimed artists and live music. Created as a cultural event that promotes and supports the diverse offerings of Atascadero and the Central Coast, Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival has emerged as a premiere event in a ‘Norman Rockwell’ setting with the beautiful backdrop of Atascadero Lake Park.

The Festival has grown over the years to be a cultural event that promotes and supports the wine, art and culinary offerings of the Central Coast. To date, contributions totaling over $100,000 have been awarded to various community projects and to assist Atascadero’s Charles Paddock Zoo with improvements in animal exhibits.

Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival, in the heart of the California’s renowned Central Coast wine region, is brought to you by the Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival Committee to promote world-class wine, food and artistic talent.
