Atascadero, Calif. –September 19, 2022: The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce is leading a group of volunteers who will visit 300 local businesses from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Wednesday, September 28. Asking a few questions to managers and owners will allow the Chamber staff to learn the challenges and opportunities confronting businesses, to plan future programs, and to add or revise resources that will help businesses flourish.
Josh Cross, Atascadero Chamber President and CEO, said, “This is one way we are listening to our business community. We sincerely want to learn about the challenges facing our local businesses.”
Teams of 2 volunteers will ask owners and operators how their business is doing and what the city or Chamber could do to improve local business conditions. They will survey businesses about what they need to be more successful, and about their experiences using city services relating to permitting, relocation, or expansion (as applicable). The Chamber will generate a report from the responses, which it will share with local officials and decision makers.
Volunteers are still needed. Anyone interested in helping to “take the pulse” of the Atascadero business community can sign up at atascaderochamber.org. The walk will begin with an optional Check-In Reception on September 28 featuring donuts and coffee at 9 A.M. at Sunken Gardens, followed by instructions at 9:30 A.M. Volunteers unable to participate in the reception can stop by Sunken Gardens any time between 10 A.M. and 2 P.M. to pick up information and business assignments.
“This event will help us learn what’s on the minds of our business community,” said Director of Membership, Julie Matthews. “We’re looking for community volunteers to join the Atascadero Chamber team as we canvas the city to check in on businesses and see how we can better serve them. This is a great chance to meet and network with businesses in Atascadero.”
The Business Walk will help conclude the “Together, We Will Move Atascadero Forward” Membership Drive. The campaign runs through September 30 and aims to enhance support of the Atascadero businesses community by increasing chamber membership.
