Holiday Shop Local Bonus Program Returns To Atascadero

Atascadero, Calif. – November 24, 2025: The Shop Local Bonus Program is returning this holiday season and the Atascadero business community is ready to welcome residents and visitors with open arms! A strong local economy depends on all of us, and this year local businesses are inviting shoppers to support them by choosing Atascadero first.

Beginning November 30, shoppers who spend $100 at qualifying Atascadero businesses can earn a $20 gift card to a participating local business. (Exclusions include grocery stores, hardware stores, fast food, pet food-only purchases, big-box retailers, medical services, and gas stations.)

“Shopping locally is one of the best gifts you can give your community,” said Josh Cross, President & CEO of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce. “Every purchase supports local families—both the business owners and their employees. Those dollars then circulate through other Atascadero shops and restaurants, creating a powerful cycle of giving during the holiday season.”

Research from the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies underscores the impact: For every $100 spent at a local business, $68 stays in the community. When the same amount is spent at a national chain, only $43 remains local.

How To Participate
Save your receipts! To qualify, receipts must:

• Be readable and itemized
• Include the date, business name, and purchase total
• Be dated November 28–December 31, 2025
• Total at least $100 (tax, delivery, and shipping do not count toward the total)

Limit two $20 gift cards per household. Gift cards are available while supplies last, and shoppers are encouraged to submit receipts early.
