April 16, 2025: The Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo (FCPZ) announced that it is currently taking applications for new board members to begin their term in July 2025!

In the past two years, under the leadership of Rachelle Rickard and Doctor Steve Robinson, the FCPZ board has revamped and become re-energized to be able to best support the mission of the Charles Paddock Zoo as its 501c3 partner.

“This is an exciting time to be part of the Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo board because of the strides we have taken in the past two years to support and empower the zoo’s mission so that it is here for another 70 years.” Rachelle Rickard, President of FCPZ.

The board’s involvement was part of the success of the Charles Paddock Zoo becoming accredited under the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Stringfield, Zoo Director, and Terrie Banish, Director of Community Services & Promotions with the City of Atascadero.

The Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo has open board member positions available. They are looking for people who have fund development skills and care about the future of the Charles Paddock Zoo and animal conservation. You can receive a Board Application by emailing the board’s President-Elect at angela@angelacisneros.com. The application process will close by May 9th.
