Discover Local Artisans & Makers
By: Josh Cross, Interim CEO & President of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce
Do you want to shop locally, supporting artisans, but don’t know where to begin? I’ve received a number of questions regarding finding and supporting local makers in our community. So today, I’m going to share a handy guide of incredible local crafters. The following isn’t a comprehensive list of all local makers, but it is a snapshot of some of our community’s creative, hardworking artisans. You can find plenty more in local shops in our community that showcase local creators like Black Sheep Finds, Farron Elizabeth, Mercantile Irish Oaks Ranch, and Colony Market & Deli, to name a few.
Bren’s Original Blends: Bring out the flavor of your meals in a whole new way with Bren’s four unique blends, Original, Spicy, Smokey, Savory, Lemon Pepper, and a South West Blend.
You can find his spices at www.brensblends.com/shop or in various local shops in downtown Atascadero and beyond.
Chaparral Gardens: Blossoming on 20 acres of the countryside off of 41 west is where Chaparral Gardens creates their unique blends of fruit and balsamic vinegars. They also make specialty oils cold-pressed with fruit and herbs without any added flavors. You can find their creations at www.chaparralgardens.com/.
Cookie Momo: Fresh out of the oven are mouthwatering cookies for fun creative cookie kits. Every kit comes with fresh cookies, icing, and decorative sprinkles so that you can unleash your creativity in a tasty way. You can find them and request a kit of your own on their Instagram page, @cookiemomo805.
Juice Boss: Right here in downtown Atascadero, Juice Boss is bringing cold-pressed daily fresh, delicious, flavorful juices to you (a great way to kick off a morning)! You can order your juice online at https://juicebossdelivers.com/shop or swing by their shop on 540 Entrada Ave. in downtown Atascadero.
The Groves on 41: Known for their award-winning olive oil, Groves on 41 is a must for fresh and tasty oil. Located at 55 Highway 41, you can go olive oil tasting here, just like you’d go wine tasting. You can also pick up a few of your favorites in person or online at https://thegroveson41.com/.
I’m excited to see the creativity and art blossoming from local artisans, crafters, makers, and more in our community. In all honesty, the list of phenomenal makers in our community could run on for pages, especially if I mentioned all of the superb craft brewers, winemakers and distillers. That’s why I want to encourage you to go out and explore all of these local artisans.
