Welcome to Atascadero, where residents enjoy a fabulous quality of life, business is growing, and entrepreneurs are welcome.
As Mayor of Atascadero, I am honored to welcome you as visitors or new residents in our beautiful community and see for yourself what it has to offer.
Conveniently located along US101 halfway between LA and San Francisco, Atascadero is becoming less of a hidden gem and more well-known as a charming and welcoming retreat for people who seek the more relaxed pace of a smaller town and the natural beauty of rolling hills and oak woodlands.
From our historic City Hall with its beautiful double-domed Italian Renaissance design to our accredited zoo, trails, parks, and outstanding veterans memorial, the City itself provides wonderful sites to see and hosts many wonderful events for residents and visitors to enjoy.
During Hot August Nights, classic cars and dancing in the streets take over downtown. Fall Festival brings out families for a carnival of fun, and Winter Wonderland sees kids sledding down a manmade hill of snow. Add in our craft beer and wine festivals featuring local producers, and there are things for all ages. Our annual Colony Days Parade, celebrating our founding, underscores the friendly small-town feeling that all these events showcase.
Our city boasts an increasing roster of restaurants, breweries, wineries, and shops to enjoy, wonderful neighborhoods in beautiful settings, and a very strong tradition of volunteering that makes for a great sense of belonging.
The City welcomes and encourages businesses of all types, and the Chamber of Commerce is their undisputed champion, providing a wide variety of supportive programs. If you are a budding entrepreneur or part of an existing business, I hope you will consider starting, expanding, or relocating your business to Atascadero, a truly wonderful town.
