We have some incredible women in OUR community! Don’t you agree? They give back to our community daily, teaching, mentoring, helping, and leading. That’s why our Chamber decided to spotlight remarkable women in North County. So, we partnered with Atascadero’s American Association of University Women (AAUW) to launch a new initiative- the Women of Influence North County program (wINC).
wINC aims to highlight remarkable women in business who are making a significant difference in their industries and communities. Our diverse community is built on a sense of synergy that we achieve by working together, learning from each other, and championing one another’s accomplishments. wINC serves as a platform to build this connection and celebration of women. The team and I want to recognize these incredible women and help foster meaningful relationships while inspiring future leaders.
This initiative is not just about us; it’s about all of us! Everyone is invited to take part by nominating deserving women who have made a significant impact on our community by clicking here or by going to Atascaderochamber.org/women-of-influence-north-county/. Nominations close August 9, at 11:59 PM. The team and I will select four nominees to speak and share their experiences and journey at a September luncheon. One remarkable wINC nominee will receive the 2023 Woman of Influence award at the Atascadero Chamber 2024 Annual Awards Dinner and Gala.
I’d like to personally invite you to our first luncheon for wINC on September 28 from 12 – 1:30 PM at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Atascadero. Four of our nominees will speak and share their stories and wisdom. Tickets are on sale now for $30 and include lunch; you can go to Atascaderochamber.org/women-of-influence-north-county/ or click here to get yours. Tickets are limited, so I recommend purchasing yours early.
Proceeds from wINC will benefit recipients of the AAUW Tech Trek program. This program helps girls with futures in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). It offers a one-week summer camp built to make STEM fields accessible to girls in middle school –when girls’ participation in these critical fields statistically drops.
Ultimately, the Women of Influence North County program (wINC) is more than just an event, program, or initiative—it’s a testament to the diversity and strength of the women in North County and what we can achieve when we work together.
